The weave on this straw hat is genuinely tight and even, and it blocked the sun way better than my old cotton cap. It survived being squished into my carry-on for a weekend trip and bounced right back into shape.
Wore this all over Portugal last week and it never once felt heavy or sweaty, even in 90-degree afternoons. The Toquilla straw breathes way better than the cotton bucket hat I used to wear, and it rolled up into my daypack without losing its shape.
