The weave is tight and even, you can tell it's actually handwoven straw and not some pressed synthetic. Wore it all afternoon in direct sun and my head never got sweaty.

Wore this to a garden wedding and got three compliments before the ceremony even started. The straw is genuinely handwoven, you can see the tiny variations in the pattern up close, and it still feels sturdy. Light enough that I forgot I had it on.
